"Krampus Come Lately" was the name used by Munktiki to promote the release of this particular glaze version. Munktiki made the Krampus mug in 4 different glaze versions that were sold in 4 separate releases from November 2013 through Januray 2014. Each release consisted of a limited run of 25 mugs numbered "X of 25" on the bottom of the foot where X = the number of that particular mug. This mug is from the fourth and final run of 25 Krampus mugs. 20 mugs from this final run of 25 were sold via lottery and the remaining 5 were sold via ebay. This mug was purchased from the manufacturer via ebay.

Krampus

in 16 collections

Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish children during the Yule season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Krampus gives out coal and switches and is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair. Krampus is represented as a beast-like creature, generally demonic in appearance with horns and a long protruding tongue. This Krampus mug was issued in four different glaze versions of 25 each for a total run of 100.
