John's Oyster Bar Mug

aka. Nugget Fisherman Mug

This mug is from my first trip to Reno, the first weekend in March 2005. A bunch of us took a Reno Fun Train package from the Bay Area. The Nugget in Sparks, where we were staying, is home to Trader Dick's, but this great mug came from their oyster bar. The oysters were terrible.

This mug is available at John's Oyster Bar, which is at the Nugget in Sparks, NV, just a few feet away from Trader Dick's. This remarkably detailed mug depicts a man with a white beard, white sailor hat, blue suit, and brown peg leg, on a brown base and with gold details. Marked "John's Oyster Bar" along the bottom front and "John Ascuaga's Nugget" on back. Bottom has gold "Made in China" sticker.
