Weathering The Storm - 5th Anniversary Tiki Mug - by Eekum Bookum - for Hidden Harbor

in 4 collections

A mug portraying Tangaroa, the tiki god of the sea, wearing a yellow fisherman's slicker and steering a ship's wheel with a red-eyed tiki on the wheel. Stacks of fish at his feet.

From Hidden Harbor's Instagram:

"Friends, it’s no secret it’s been a tough ten months in the bar and restaurant business. We’ve experienced a perfect storm of a pandemic, compounded by prolonged political inaction, and it’s taken absolutely everything in our and others’ powers to simply weather that storm. In tribute to the fighting spirit that’s powered our team to this point - and with your incredible support, will propel us to distant shores - we present to you our “Weathering the Storm” mug, designed and produced by the great @mulder142 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The mug depicts Tangaroa, the fabled fisherman god of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, stoically steering his ship through stormy seas. With a Witco-esque captain’s wheel and stacked fish at his feet, he cuts a handsome figure on a shelf and serves as a fitting memento of this trying time in all of our lives.

Only 100 mugs were made in this limited glaze-edition, and will be available first to dine-in guests at the release THIS Saturday, January 30, $125 apiece, limit one per guest. Remaining mugs will be held for the anniversary event the following Saturday, with any remaining after that going online on Tuesday, February 9 (info to follow).

Many mahalos to all for your support the past five years, and especially over the last one. We wouldn’t still be here without you, and we look forward to celebrating our shared milestone with you all."
