Brass Monkey Pitcher - by Heublein
in 2 collections
This brass colored monkey-shaped pitched has a handle and a spout and is marked "Brass Monkey" on the back.
In the World War II era, a "Brass Monkey" was beer and orange juice. Later it was a cocktail produced in the 1970s, 80s and 90s by the Heublein Company that was made from rum, vodka and orange juice.
They also created a fictional story about a World War II spy as a marketing ploy.
The spy, named H.E. Rasske, and many of his adventures, revolved around a Singapore bar called The Brass Monkey, and this later inspired the TV show Tales of the Gold Monkey (1982 - 1983).
It also inspired more than a few bar owners who named their establishment after the drink advertising.
