Tiki Mug Design

McMenamins Dagon Mug

in 13 collections

This is a mug shaped like the head of the fish god Dagon. Manufactured by Munktiki Imports. Dagon has ancient roots going back to Mesopotamia where he was first represented as a fertility god. He was later reinvented by other cultures, including the Philistines, and is often portrayed as a merman of sorts. Many associate him with the fictional Cthulhu mythos, where he is depicted as a "Great Old One" and presides over the "Deep Ones", an amphibious humanoid race indigenous to Earth's oceans.

The first color-way of this design was green and a later version was released in blue.
