The pineapple itself is the Hawaiian symbol for 'Welcome'. Tiki Oasis 2021 Riki Tiki Mug - First Edition - by Eekum Bookum a.k.a. Tiki Oasis 21 Riki Tiki Mug - by Eekum Bookum

This year's mug for Tiki Oasis is shaped like a tiki head with a lidded hat and flame on top.

This event marks the first year that Tiki Oasis was held at the Town and Country Resort. The mug is modeled after their one and only vintage tiki on the premises -- a William Westenhaver Witco Mainlander carving named “Riki Tiki” that was placed atop their pavillion.

On special occasions, Tiki torch flames or fireworks would be set off from his head. Riki caught fire a couple of times even though he was protected from the flames via a sheetmetal dulì (Chinese farmer’s hat).

San Diego Fire Department officials soon put a stop to that, and Riki Tiki was relocated to good ol’ terra firma. The pavilion and Riki Tiki have survived under various names to this day.

The mug was issued only on premises with the Deluxe Evening Resort Pass ($420) and the mug was billed as a $150 value.

Pirate At The Helm Mug - Third Edition - by THOR - for Tikiland Trading Company a.k.a. Pirate At The Helm Mug - Moonlight Edition - by THOR - for Tikiland Trading Company

    From Tikiland Trading Company:

"Maritime legend tells of a fine pirate that sailed the Pacific searching to add to his growing collection of Tiki carvings from the islands he explored.

So fascinated with this art form, he wove their beauty into the wooden skin of his galleon! But great and mighty were the squalls that locked their talons grip upon his sails and left them tattered and a flutter!

The lighting and beckoning of Davy Jones took life and flesh from both ship and captain, leaving him lifeless, with iron grip at the great ship's helm. His crimson red frock coat shredded and fluttering like the tell tails of a jib. His bones bleached from the salty sea and scorching sun. Yet he remains fast to the wheel...on a ghost ship destined for lands unknown.

Pirate at the Helm, a continuation of Thor’s pirate tiki mug series, comes with a custom tiki cocktail recipe crafted by Kelly Merrell.

This ceramic tiki mug was designed by Thor, sculpted by Thor, and was one of our first two mug designs that was manufactured in-house at TikiLand Trading Co. by the same team that previously made mugs released by Thor Arts!"

The first two editions of this mug were manufactured in-house, and due to more interest, and the desire to make an edition that was more accessible, we produced this edition overseas. It is nearly identical in size and weight as the two editions we previously released which were made in Southern California."
