Tiki Mug Design

Congo Caliente 2026 Mug - by Eekum Bookum

aka Circa Caliente 2026 Mug - by Eekum Bookum in 1 collection

This mug was produced by Eekum Bookum and based off of the statue that has been standing at the Tropics since 1964.

Not Tiki, But African. This was the mascot of the Congo Room.

So what was the Congo Room?

The most storied, steak-slinging, martini-swilling room in Palm Springs tiki-ish history, located at 411 E. Palm Canyon.

Opened in 1964 as part of The Tropics Motor Hotel, it was the poolside steakhouse and cocktail lounge where the Rat Pack held court, Victor Mature had his own table, and Elvis and Nancy Sinatra were regulars at the pool.

Underneath it? The infamous Cellar Bar — a 100-person underground den that eventually filled with water and had to be entombed in concrete in the 90’s. Very Palm Springs horror movie. Very on-brand.

After a stint as Hawaiian Bill's and a long nap as an empty room, it was reborn in 2017 as The Reef Bar.

The Congo Caliente Mug is limited edition as always and only available to attendees that purchased the item pre-event.
