Disney 'Mermaid' handled mug. A rather dubious addition perhaps... maybe it's made for 'The Little Mermaid'? ...but it was on sale in the Bou-tiki store at the Polynesian Resort and there are plenty of other tiki mugs featuring mermaids. Very tactile, it feels like a proper tiki mug... honest :-) 5" tall 3.5" wide (excluding the handle). All-over sea-blue glaze, the handle is fashioned from the mermaid's tail.

OK, this is clearly not a mug - but the central component is ceramic. It's CheekyTiki's 'Framed Ceramic Tangaroa Mask Lucky Dip'. Here's what they say... "Hand made signed and numbered ceramic mask limited to 250 random colour ways. CheekyTiki are using their stock glaze colours and combining them with some cool back grounds. Size : 12.5 inches square. Take a chance and see what you get." I'm not entirely convinced about the beauty of my 'lucky dip' - orange and red are a bit clashy... but some of the matting/barkcloth and brown/green ceramic combos on their website look mighty fine.

Don't know much about this one... looks rather more African than conventional tiki - but still quite nice. It's got a handle, it's made of a rather crude 'clay' material with a couple of dinks. Seems to have a bit of age. 8" tall and 4" wide not including the handle. Unmarked on the base but has some writing on the back - hard to discern, but seems to say 'Corza DP134'.

Not really sure what section to add this one - or whether it qualifies at all really... but anyhoo. It's the mug used to serve hot green tea at Benihana restaurants. Familiar white porcelain with classic oriental blue pattern - which in this case is a depiction of the safflower, as seen in the Benihana logo. A similar, different but smaller design is printed on the rear. These aren't really for sale... but somehow one managed to appear in amongst the bag of bona fide other mugs I drank from and purchased on my recent visit to the Coral Gables branch.

This one was overpriced at the Hillsboro Antiques Mall in Pompano Beach, FL. - but since I'm from the UK and had basically wasted a couple of hours of my vacation dragging the missus round looking at old tat I felt I couldn't come away completely empty-handed...
