Tiki Mugs
Ako The Follower - Lava Edition - by Omar Girona - for Oakwash
aka Artifact 004 in collections
This mug is designed as a mask version of the Creature From the Black Lagoon, and was issued in several color-ways, including a Creature Glaze, Lava Glaze, Atlantis Glaze, and Bone Glaze.
From Omar Girona:
"Well if you believe in such things, very little equipment was recovered from Site 9 of the ill-fated expedition in search of the lost city except for this peculiar mask. This celebratory mask was worn by a young attendant to the storyteller at a lagoon where the waters flow dark as obsidian during festivals and high events in the lost city. The most notable festival was the celebration of the rising of the Black Moon. The skull looks remarkably human-like, but even experts of the Explorer’s Club are at a loss of what the face of the Akolouthos looks like as the mask has formed a permanent bond with the skull. According to the Explorer’s Club resident South American Cryptologist, this mask has similar markings to the Brazilian Lara or pays tribute to a lost creature of the black lagoon. Notice the large eyes and the pronounced scales on the face. Perhaps to see underwater or maybe in the far reaches of outer space.
Again, if you believe in such things…"
First release at Inuhele, January 19th-21st, 2024.

Only three unglazed bisques were made apart from the regular production run in blue.
This is one of those unglazed bisque mugs which was later embellished/modified by Atomikitty in 2008.
The bottom, apart from Atomikitty's Sharpie signature is still bisque and unglazed.

Moai Incense Burner
aka Moai Bong, Moai Water Pipe in collections
This is a tall ceramic standing Moai with hands in front and it has a narrow opening at top and a hole in the back for carburation airflow.
Appears that this sculpt could easily be converted to a bong/water-pipe with the addition of a hole on the front chest to insert a glass stemmed bowl. Or, it could be used as an incense burner.
However, the carburetor bowl on reverse make it impractical to use as a mug.

Forbidden Island Coffee Mug - by Tiki Shark
in 1 collection
This tall tapered white coffee mug has a wrap-around heat decal of Brad Parker's (Tiki Shark's) painting, Forbidden Island.
From Brad Parker about his painting:
"It's the wrap-around cover to a great neo-exotica album by the 'Crazed Mugs' named 'Find Forbidden Island'. It was painted with that purpose in mind - being an album cover.
'Forbidden Island' is my homage to the science fiction films of the 1950's I loved growing up. Its various bizarre elements are all found in many of those movies, like the 1956 sci-fi epic; 'Forbidden Planet' - that amazing film has many of the fantastic elements found here; Crashed ships, Aliens, Lost civilizations, Mental super powers, and walking automatons carrying beautiful girls.
Forbidden Island's wide horizontal composition allowed me to create different scenes within its frame. On the left is a rustic tropical Tiki Lounge complete with glowing neon sign and two guardian Tiki doormen. Like any good '50's sci-fi film plot, there's a secret Laboratory with a giant tank and floating inside is a huge alien brain. The repulsive purple thing glares outward emitting a ruby-red stream of telekinetic power it uses to serve up an exotic tropical drink cooling in a frosty cold 'Cthulhu Tiki-Mug'. This beverage floats out to the exotic Wahine being carried by an accommodating 'living Tiki'. A giant stone Moai head looks out stoically over a wrecked pirate ship and it's cursed treasure, and further out across the sparkling sunset bay to an equally enormous stone statue carved into the island cliffs of an ancient 'elder sea-god' like those written about in books by H.P. Lovecraft. Amongst the exotic flora and fauna is a brilliantly lit wave showing the framed silhouette of a shark cursing the coastline - making sure no one leaves or enters Forbidden Island."
*This mug measures approximately 5.5" H x 3.5" D and holds around 13.5 oz of fluid.
This was one in a series of Tiki Shark painting coffee mugs, including "Tiki Cat" and "Digga Digga Doo".
