Papua New Guinea Memorial Tablet Mug - from the Eight Part Tiki Set - by Lokena
aka Spirit Board, Ancestor Tablet, Kwoi in 1 collection
Called a Memorial Tablet, spirit board, ancestor tablet or kwoi, these come from the Purari Delta area of Papua New Guinea. Like many spirit boards, it is slightly curved as it was probably made from an old canoe, imbued with its previous usage by the community who owned it. The boards were kept safely in special long-houses accessible only to men, as part of a family shrine revering the spirits and ancestors. This would ensure health, fertility, wealth and success in hunting, harvesting, warfare or trade.

Navy Bob - Gold Edition - by MP Ceramics - for False Idol
in 1 collection
This is an adaptation of the classic Tiki Bob combined with some naval battle cruiser elements. The Bob head has his usual white face, cartoonish eyes, and small mouth, but the head is the prow of a battleship made of riveted steel, plunging through waves, and wearing a sailor's hat marked for the US NAVY.
From False Idol on Facebook:
"Meet Navy Bob!! Our first collaboration with mighty MP Ceramics! A celebration of both San Diego maritime history and adorable Bobness for our fifth anniversary."
The gold glaze was done in 2023 in an edition of 10. The first was auctioned off at False Idol's Mandatory Maui Monday fundraiser night for the TS Restaurants’ “Legacy of Aloha” foundation.
Ursula's Cauldron - First Edition - Dark Green - for Disneyland's Club 33
in 0 collections
As one would guess, this is a ceramic vessel shaped like the cauldron used by Ursula in the 1989 animated film, The Little Mermaid.
The central stem is wrapped in tentacles. Polyps are depicted around the bowl of the mug/bowl and on the sides of its internal structure. These polyps are the captured souls of former merpeople; they are seen near Ursula’s lair in the original film.
Also comes with a circular glow ball (pearl) that sits in center on what might otherwise be used for a lime shell to put lime or lemon extract in and light on fire.
This mug went on sale October 19th, 2023 at Club 33.
Served with an "Ursula's Cauldron" cocktail containing Pineapple Rum, Falernum, Prickly Pear Syrup, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, and Angostura Bitters.
*Note: There is also a purple version of this design that was released on October 18th for Trader Sam's and a light blue matte glaze with darker blue wipe version released for Trader Sam's Grog Grotto on December 11th, 2023..
