Tiki Mugs
Cynocephalus Polyphemus - by The Shrunken Monkey - for Undertow
aka Cyclops Baboon Skull - by The Shrunken Monkey - for Undertow in 4 collections
Polyphemus was one of the Cyclopes described in Homer's Odyssey.
"Cynocephalus" means "dog head" in Greek, but although this seems like a misnomer, the Yellow Baboon species does have a dog-like head and muzzle and were given this Greek name.
From Undertow:
"We are very excited to introduce to you our new limited edition 'Cynocephalus Polyphemus' mug released in collaboration with @theshrunkenmonkey, a.k.a. David O'Connell. This intricate creation was inspired by the unpublished 'Chapter Eight: Rattle and Bones, Games of Chance and Valor,' chronicling a tale where these rare one-eyed baboon skulls were made as an offering to the Chief of Peace for safe passage aboard the Undertow. You're invited to join us on Friday, April 29 from noon to 2 pm on the Century Grand Patio to pick up your mug, meet & greet the talented artist, and enjoy a frozen crafted cocktail in it — on us. Each mug is priced at $300, and there are only 100 available for purchase."

MARQ Mug - Blue - by Odd Rodney
aka Marquesan Mug - Blue - by Odd Rodney in 2 collections
From Odd Rodney:
"The MARQ Tiki mug made its debut at TIKI Oasis 2021 in San Diego. This mug is my personal interpretation of a classic Marquesan style with a Mid Mod twist (the teeth are reminiscent of Broyhill furniture) also the pattern that make up the eyes and nose is repetitive to create the same face upon rotation.
This mug is just over 7 inches tall and 2.75 inches wide. Made of stoneware and offered in different glaze options. Each one is unique as they are 100% hand made by me in my home studio."

Monster Clock - First Edition - by Elle Tiki
in 6 collections
From Elle Tiki:
"When it’s dark and eerie and creaks make you gasp
And the shadowy hand has you firmly in its grasp
When midnight is behind us, and the spooks have all the power
You'll find that you've entered the 13th hour...
This design was hand sculpted using Monster Clay.
The Monster Clock has 3 colors of underglazes. 3 coats applied by hand to ensure a full color saturation. Interior glaze effect is used with two food safe glazes, layered to add dimension with streaks/ speckles to pay homage to the memorable wallpaper seen in the haunted halls. A black wash technique was then utilized to push all the details to the forefront and bring this spooky icon to life. Finally, a clear coat was applied to protect and make this completely food safe, inside and out.
Final mug size is roughly 4 inches x 4 inches x 9.75 inches and holds a total of 26 fluid oz."

The Cannibal - Gold - by Jordan Reichek - for Peekaboo Gallery
aka Oceanic Arts Tahitian Cannibal Eater Mug - Gold in 4 collections
From Peekaboo Gallery:
"This impressive chalice, 'THE CANNIBAL' is based on an original Tiki post carving by LeRoy Schmaltz created for the famous Don the Beachcomber restaurant at The Sahara Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This Beachcomber location featured some of the most elaborate and wide-ranging décor of any in the company’s chain across the globe. A series of eight entrance posts were fabricated by Oceanic Arts for placement at the interior of the venue. Each of these tall entrance tikis were unique and represented an amalgamation of Polynesian tribal styles. Upon the closing of the Las Vegas restaurant in the 1970s, the company sold a good deal of its décor back to Oceanic Arts. Over the years, OA sold or repurposed much of this décor into their Luau Rental Department.
The mug was designed by Peekaboo Gallery owner and author of OCEANIC ARTS: The Godfathers of TIKI, JORDAN REICHEK. The design is a representation of the Don the Beachcomber, 'Cannibal Post' carving and it features a base that pays homage to OA’s famous rope-wrapped brass tiki table lamp shades. This mug is MASSIVE, measuring 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide at the base, holding approximately 18oz of liquid gold! It comes in a special commemorative OA box."
AND...
"On both Saturday and Sunday, October 15th & 16th at the OA Warehouse, 50 mugs will be available each day on a first come, first serve basis to registered bidder attendees of the live auction. Once admitted after the doors open at 8am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday, registered attendees will be given a ticket to purchase (one mug per visitor only) the Gold Cannibal Mug. The remaining 100 mugs will go on sale to the general public on our website at a later date [February 16th, 2023]. Mugs come in a unique graphic box. $175 each."
