Trader Vic's Lady Cocktail Glass

The Lady Cocktail glass was manufactured for Trader Vic's and was used for Pink Cloud, White Cloud, Cucumber, Grasshopper, Harbor Light, White Coral and after-dinner drinks. The stem is black and is shaped like a nude woman with her arms raised as if she were supporting the bowl of the glass. The mold for making the figural stem was acquired from Cambridge Glass Company in 1960. It was labeled: "No. 3011 Footed Cocktail Party Compote." Imperial Glass made both a black stemmed and a gold/amber stemmed version in this design with clear bowl and base. They also used this stem design to make the aforementioned larger bowled "Party Compote" with a "Lalique Style" frosted finish that was achieved using an acid wash.

Palembei was designed and produced by Falin Minoru (aka Tiki Kaimuki). It was influenced by the art of the Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea. The tiki has round protruding eyes set in deep sockets, a large open mouth and a long nose that extends from his forehead down past his mouth. The glaze colors vary throughout the limited run.
