Tamoko Bowl

Tamoko was designed and produced by Gecko. This tall brown bowl stands on a round base surrounded by Maori warrior faces. There is a Maori tiki mask on either side of the bowl, and it has two hei tiki handles. The entire bowl is covered in moko.

Fat Lava Kava is a kava bowl designed and produced by Gecko. The bowl features Gecko's Fat Lava glaze which has the look of molten lava. The bowl has eight legs. Each is shaped like a tiki with eyes squinted shut, flared nostrils, an open mouth with gritting teeth and a small tiki on his forehead.
These tiki "legs" were also produced as shot mugs and used in other custom pieces.

Pikake Kanikani Vessel

The Pikake Kanikani Vessel was designed and produced by Gecko. Pikake Kanikani means chattering peacock, and this evocative name is the inspiration for the interior glaze which is a mixture of blues and greens. The exterior is brown and has a very simple tapa pattern providing a nice contrast to the vibrant interior. The bowl is supported by five tikis with eyes squinted shut, flared nostrils, open mouths with gritting teeth and a small tiki on their foreheads.
Derby Daiquiri Glass

The Derby Daiquiri glass is from the Mai Kai in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It appeared on their menus as early as 1957.
In 1959, the Mai Kai won a national cocktail competition with the Derby Daiquiri. This glass was used for the "$100,000 Drink", with a golden stem in the shape of a jockey. For more on the recipe and story, see pages 154 & 160 of Beachbum Berry's Sippin' Safari.
Morgantown also made a clear and a frosted stem version of this design, but it is the golden stem version that was used at the Mai Kai.
