On the Vanuatu island of Ambrym, there is an instrument known as the “Tamtam”. These tamtams, or slit gongs, serve as drums and are decorated with different faces, all with disk-shaped eyes. The faces represent ancestral figures. This mug was inspired by these instruments.

This tiki mug from Daga is slightly flared at the top and bottom, and has a tiki with gritted teeth, small almond-shaped slanted eyes, and a "V" design on its forehead. Brown glazed exterior with white interior. Back has heat decal for "Kauai Resort Hotel, Wailua, Kaui." There is also an orange version.

This seahorse-shaped mug was manufactured by Gecko'z South Sea Arts. It is green and reads "South Sea Arts, La Mariana" across top of head.

This is the new version of Frankie's Tiki Room's Malekula mug, and it bears no resemblance to the earlier one. It is a black moai, including shoulders, with Frankie's Tiki Room on the back ("Frankie's" is in bright red letters). The interior glaze is bright red. There is also an earlier version with blue interior and letters.

This is a mug shaped like an ape head with round staring eyes and a slightly furrowed, angry brow. The regular limited edition of 100 comes in varying glaze colors. This version was released as a promotion on Black Friday 2013 along with a number of other random black versions of other mugs.

Some gold accents. The concept for the Shrunken Shriner Mug came from Mahalo Tiki. It was sculpted and manufactured by Eekum Bookum (John Mulder).
