Captain Morgan Rum Pirate Head Mug Plastic
in 1 collection
This plastic head mug features the "Captain" based on the real life pirate Sir Henry Morgan. The mug also comes with a black plastic liner insert. This mug was preceded by a ceramic version that read "Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum" on the front brim of his hat. The ceramic version was very similar but did not have an insert and the interior extended toward the pointed front brim, making it more like a small pitcher than a mug. The label was designed by Don Maitz, who is an American science fiction, fantasy, and commercial artist. Although the "Captain" is Maitz's most widely known creation, he is perhaps most notable for twice winning the Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist, science fiction's highest honor for an artist. In 1984, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum was introduced to the United States. Captain Morgan is, by volume, the second largest brand of spirits in the United States, and the seventh largest worldwide.
