Trader Vic's Kneeling Hula Girl Bowl Large Modern Made In Thailand
aka Trader Vic's Scorpion Bowl Modern Made In Thailand, Trader Vic's Scorpion Bowl 2015 in 14 collections
This bowl was used by Trader Vic's, and is full of the familiar scenery of lounging men, rum barrels and hula girls as seen on other Trader Vic's items. Three kneeling girls, holding uli uli, support the bowl, the girls have their knees out and are molded separately. Each girl has a fan of leaves printed on the bowl directly behind her. Bowl is white with details painted in many colors. This newer version has crisper graphics on the sides that appear to be printed heat decal graphics, not hand-painted. The faces and figures of the kneeling hula girls are slightly thinner than older versions (albeit similar to the Made In Mexico 2012 version). Unlike the Made in Mexico 2012 version, the bottom molded support lines from the three surrounding hula girls does not extend toward the center. Seen from interior, there are indentions where each of the kneeling girls are connected (not so in the Made In Mexico 2012 version). Bottom is marked "Trader Vic's ® Scorpion Bowl 2015" molded in recessed letters and there is a "Made In Thailand" sticker as well. Measures 3 3/8" high, 7.5" across at rim, 9.5" from tip of knees to opposite side at farthest point on belly of the bowl.

Double Down Saloon Toilet Bowl Mug White
aka Ass Juice Mug White in 4 collections
This is a mug shaped like a toilet and marked for the Double Down Saloon, owned by P. Moss (the same owner as Frankie's Tiki Bar). There was also a limited edition version of this mug in black. These mugs are used to serve the "Ass Juice" cocktail, which is a sweet, often tropical tasting concoction with a stomach-turning origin. It began with a Jagermeister knockoff called Bekturova that the bar got a few bottles of. "It was disgusting," Moss says. "Even bums wouldn't drink it." He made a sign offering shots of the stuff for $3. Then $2. Then $1. Still, no takers. "So I crossed out 'Bekturova,' wrote out 'Ass Juice' and I sold out immediately," Moss says. "I go, 'I can make my own Ass Juice.' It just became huge. We've sold thousands and thousands and thousands of Ass Juice T-shirts." He notes that they also sell around 10 Ass Juice shot mugs, shaped like a miniature toilet, on a nightly basis, though there's still no set recipe for the tangy, potent libation among the various bartenders who make it. "It's all different," Moss says. "Basically, it has to taste good, it has to be fruity and it has to look like (crap)."
