This lidded bowl is based on an extremely rare Mai Kai bowl that was used in a drink identification contest at the Mai Kai in 1961. Tiki Diablo became aware of the design through Tim "Swanky" Glazner's book on Mai Kai history. The bowl has a lid with two straw holes and you can light overproof rum on fire in the lid's reservoir. "Tupaupau" translates as "Devil Woman."

The design was inspired from an old Tahitian wooden drum that Tahiti Felix Lynch used while performing Polynesian floor shows under "The Regal Tahitians" during the 1960's thru the early 1970's. Marked for Tahiti Felix's Tattoo Shop on back along with image of a Tangaroa Tiki.

Hula Girl Fog Cutter With Green & Brown Rims

This white fog cutter with green top and brown bottom rim features a hula girl in a brown grass skirt wearing a lei. These are hand-painted with a deal of difference from piece to piece. This, along with the fact they are unmarked makes their provenance uncertain. Some believe these were made by Tepco for Trader Vic's, and they are similar to the Tepco Trader Vic's Hula Girl Fog Cutter, although a bit less detailed.

This Tiki is based on the carvings of the Batak people of Northern Sumatra. Glazed in black with a red gloss interior. The original version was manufactured by Tiki Farm but this is an unauthorized version with distorted details that was sold on e-Bay and through several wholesale bar supply stores online.
