In the 1990s, archeologists in Mexico City unearthed a 500-year-old skeleton near an ancient Aztec temple - a victim of human sacrifice. Perhaps even more chilling was what the beheaded skeleton was holding: two small whistles, one in the shape of a skull. When a researcher blew into one of the tiny instruments, the horrifying sounds that emerged immediately captivated imaginations. One scholar described the noise as a shriek of death. The dreadful, high-pitched sound of the whistle is perhaps most comparable to a human scream. The true purpose of these artifacts has baffled experts. Were they used to terrorize enemies in warfare? Were they used to induce trances as part of healing rituals? Perhaps they were used in the ritual of human sacrifice? Nobody knows. This is the limited edition glazed version of this mug design.

This mug is easily mistaken for a statuette from the front as it avoids the cylindrical form of most mugs and has pass-throughs under the arm and leg of the Captain.

The drink it serves is called "The Sea Monster's Embrace" and features Real McCoy and Plantation dark rums, New Amsterdam Gin, Christian Brothers brandy, passion fruit, falernum, and juices of lime, orange, and pineapple.

This is a hiball mug featuring a Papua New Guinea style tiki faced shield on one side that has a second small tiki that forms the nose of the mask. On the other side, the smaller figure is carrying the mask like a surfboard. Light blue wipe glaze leaving the otherwise white mug with light blue in the low relief areas to show off the sculpt. Designed by Marcus Gonzalez with sculpt by Tim Wollweber. The drink it serves is called "The Tangaroa Cooler" and features Hendrick's gin, orgeat, falernum, Angostura bitters, and juices of grapefruit and lemon.

Designed by Ken Holewczynski/House of Tabu and sculpted and produced by John Mulder (aka., Eekum Bookum). This third limited edition series is limited to 100 mugs in a matte bronze and black with bone/beige face, and with an aqua blue gloss inner glaze. Tut stares out into eternity with slate blue jeweled eyes and comes in a custom mid-modern designed burial crate. Owners of the Tut Tut Mug also are initiated into The Order of the Golden Fez, complete with a matching numbered certificate corresponding to their mug. Buried with Tut are various trinkets and an original recipe card. Limited to one per customer.

This is a mug shaped like a moai wearing a blue aloha shirt with Rapa Nui bird men on back. Released at their third annual tech summit on December 4th - 6th, 2018 in Maui, Hawaii.

This mug was used at two different restaurants, both in Fresno, California, the Luau and the Leilani. It is the standard "painted moai" design produced by Otagiri.
