A mug shaped like a slightly tikified version of Cthulhu with an octopus head and bat wings. Made of porcelain. Cthulhu is holding a ship in his hands and has skull decorations on his forehead and in his mouth tentacles. This mug is done with a wipe-away effect leaving the mug mostly white with an aged appearance and some color embellishment with red eyes. Other mug in this series feature a red-eyed Frankenstein, a zombie holding a brain, and a psychotic looking clown. Cthulhu made his first official appearance in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu," written by Lovecraft in 1926, although no living character in the story ever sets eyes on the actual creature. The characters we meet in the story see Cthulhu either in dreams or in artwork. Don the Beachcomber Rum Keg 2017
aka Crazy Al's Donn Beach Barrel Mug Honey Brown in 19 collections
This mug was designed to look like a rum keg used for trade in the early 1900's, one that has been battered by dozens of trips across the Atlantic and back. The "metal fitting" on the side, with a "cork" driven into it designates this is technically not a big barrel, but a much smaller KEG. These mugs were released in an "Antiquity Brown" glaze of 500 and an Artist Proof edition of 30 in several different colored glazes in 2012. This 2017 limited edition is the same design in a lighter honey brown glaze with dark brown bands. Released 09/09/2017 at the Tiki Makeke held at Don the Beachcomber's.

Pseudopod Tower 10th Anniversary Mug
aka The Eye of Kanaloa Mug by Horror in Clay for Pseudopod Tower 10th Anniversary in 6 collections
The front depicts a Kanaloa tiki. Glazed in a wipe-away purple to pick out details of sculpt. In the mythology of the old Hawaiian gods, Kanaloa is symbolized by the squid or by the octopus. He exists in complement to Kane, the god of creation, and guides the way to hidden springs. Statues of Kanaloa have round eyes. According to Kauai tradition, if you could look into the eye of Kanaloa, you would see a mystic pattern and be healed. Peering deep into the eye of THIS Kanaloa may turn out differently . . . there appears to be a fanged, tentacled and clawed beastie inside. The microphone is a Shure 55 vintage mic. The obverse of the mug shows one incarnation of Pseudopod Tower—from noxious catacombs beneath to soaring spires and roofs above; existing both in and between worlds. This was a Kickstarter project and more about it can be seen here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1013714773/pseudopod-year-10
