Zardoz - 2019 - by Moore Monsters
in 0 collections
This is a mug shaped like the snarling bearded head of Zardoz.
Zardoz is a 1974 Irish-American surrealist science fantasy film written, produced, and directed by John Boorman and starring Sean Connery. The film features a future post-apocalyptic Earth in the year 2293, where the human population is divided into the immortal "Eternals" and mortal "Brutals". The Brutals live in a wasteland, growing food for the Eternals, who live apart in "the Vortex", leading a luxurious but aimless existence on the grounds of a country estate. The connection between the two groups is through Brutal Exterminators, who kill and terrorize other "Brutals" at the orders of a huge flying stone head called Zardoz. "Zardoz" is a reference to the "wiZARD of OZ" and functions the same way as the wizard's theatrical tricks to awe spectators.

Forbidden Rye Mug - First Edition - by Bauer Pottery - for Lost Temple Traders
in 4 collections
This mug features a cobra twined around and bursting through the stonework of an ancient Egyptian pillar decorated with lotus blossoms and with an oil brazier on top.
The name is inspired by Skipper Melissa (Melissa Nickoloff from Trader Sam's) and her cocktail, the "Temple of the Forbidden Rye" and the Indiana Jones ride in Adventureland which welcomes visitors to the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Melissa has stated that she wanted to do a tiki riff on "The Lion's Tail" which is a classic bourbon drink with allspice and lime. Her cocktail also seems to have some DNA from the classic tiki "Western Sour" cocktail which includes bourbon/falernum/lime (named "Zambezi Sour" on the Sam's menu). Melissa's cocktail includes:
1.75 oz rye whiskey, 0.5 oz St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, 1 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz lime juice, 0.5 oz ginger syrup, 0.25 oz Falernum, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
From the Lost Temple Traders website:
"There are a lot of things that can kill you in the Jungle: crumbling ruins, fire, giant snakes...bad resort mai tais. If you dare brave the Forbidden Rye, the reward will be great. Based on the legendary cocktail created by Skipper Melissa."
