Bahi Hut Tiki Mug Open Edition
aka Bahi Hut Cocktail Lounge Marquesan Tiki Mug Blue in 10 collections
This mug is styled after the two flanking 8' Marquesan tikis carved in 2017 by Jeff Chouinard for the refurbishing of the Bahi Hut and placed outside their front entrance. The Bahi Hut, built in 1954, is one of the nation's oldest tiki bars, and the oldest in the state of Florida. It is a totally intact mid-century tiki bar. Their mai tai is a notorious local legend and either folks love it or hate it because of its strength and tart taste. The back features the line art logo of the torch-lit sign, as originally drawn by famous illustrator and fine artist Thornton Utz and was on their napkins until the early 2000's when the original order of the napkins from the late 50's finally ran out. Below that is the name "Bahi Hut" in the driftwood logo from the front of the building. This is the open edition glazed in blue.

Mr. Bali Hai Tiki Farm Mug Edition V
aka Mr. Bali Hai Tiki Farm Mug Fifth Edition, Reproduction Mr. Bali Hai Orange Eyes in 31 collections
This mug is a reproduction of the original Mr. Bali Hai, the mascot for the Bali Hai Restaurant in San Diego. This version of the mug was manufactured by Tiki Farm and portrays Mr. Bali Hai as an oblong head with a bone through the nose and large white hoop earrings, with sleepily lidded orange eyes. The mug comes with a lid with two straw holes. This version, which started in Summer 2018, can be easily distinguished by the orange eyes, the bone through nose is "droopier" than previous versions, and the eyebrows are not painted white -- just brown like the rest. This is a near duplicate of the earlier OMC Concave Bottom version in many ways. However, the sticker on the bottom looks like an Otagiri sticker but instead of the letters OMC, it has a T and an F and an image of a little tiki head that looks to be the logo of Tiki Farm.
Wood Tiki Daruma Mug
in 3 collections
This multi-colored mug is of Daruma, a Buddhist monk and founder of Zen Buddhism. His brows are furrowed and he has an angry expression. Little contemporary biographical information on Daruma (Bodhidharma) is extant, and subsequent accounts became layered with legend. According to one tradition, Bodhidharma gained a reputation for, among other things, his practice of wall-gazing. Legend claims that he sat facing a wall in meditation for a period of nine years without moving, which caused his legs and arms to fall off from atrophy. This explains the weeble-wobble look of this mug. Traditionally, Daruma toys are weighted like weeble-wobbles and people fill in one pupil on his blank-eyed stare when they have a goal and the second pupil when they have fulfilled the goal.
