Da U'u Warclub Mug - by Motu Mikey
aka Marquesan Warclub Mug - by Motu Mikey in 2 collections
Designed & Sculpted by Motu Mikey
Inspired by the Marquesan U’u
Initial Release: January 31st, 2022
Edition of 150
Medium: Cone 6 Stoneware
One of the most striking and unique pieces of oceanic art is the U'u War Club. These clubs were the weapons of the 'Toa', the Henata warriors. Each U'u was cut to its owner's height. They were carved from pacific ironwood (also called 'Toa') and buried in the muddy taro fields for weeks. Coconut oil was used to polish the clubs smooth which gave the weapon a beautiful finish. However, they were not ceremonial, nor ornamental. They were used to kill.
*This design was also released in a Halloween micro edition (ivory with skulls) and a Custom Painted edition.

The Hideous Sun Demon Mug - by Moore Monsters
in 0 collections
This is a mug modeled after the Hideous Sun Demon.
The Hideous Sun Demon (sometimes billed as The Sun Demon, or in the UK as Blood on His Lips) is a 1958 American science fiction horror film. The film focuses on a scientist who is exposed to a radioactive isotope and soon finds out that it comes with horrifying consequences -- the exposure to radiation caused a reversal of evolution, transforming Gil into a prehistoric reptile after exposure to sunlight. The story plays out much like a werewolf story, but with a unique creature who attacks in daylight not moonlight.
Never Say Die Mutant Skull - Crimson Ghost Edition - by Munktiki
aka Goonies Sloth Skull - Crimson Ghost Edition - by Munktiki in 4 collections
This is a strangely elongated skull in bone white glaze with red accents and hood. It belonged to the character Sloth from the film "The Goonies" which was shot in Astoria where Munktiki is located. This version is a bit of a mash-up with the classic skull image from the film, The Crimson Ghost, which later inspired the mascot for the punk band, The Misfits -- which featured the skull wearing a black hood.
Also of note, The Goonies motto is "Never Say Die!" Additionally, "Never Say Die" is an actual Tiki drink from Don the Beachcombers, circa 1960's and reproduced by BeachBum Berry in his Total Tiki app.
Produced by Munktiki.

Tiki Underground Seventh Anniversary Tiki Mug - by Eekum Bookum
in 5 collections
From Tiki Underground:
"Designed and produced just for us by John Mulder, better known as Eekum Bookum, the TU Tiki Mug for our 7th Anniversary is an incredible work of art inspired by model & dancer Lightning Layne and Doktor Bill's art. You may also know her as one of the Lava Ladies who dances with The Kahuna Kings, Akron's ultimate Surf/Retro Party and Dance Band.
Lightning Layne held a special photo shoot with a very large snake in front of Doktor Bill's fountain at our previous location. The first 100 mugs will include an exclusive full color card with the background of this moment.
The mug glaze is ground breaking, with various colors and styles revealing the design elements of both of our locations. It is numbered and has the official Eekum Bookum stamp on the bottom which is reserved for mugs that he personally designs and produces.
The mug holds approximately 16 oz of delicious libations, and measures almost 8 inches tall."
