Akua Kai Marquesan Stemmed Martini Glass Prototype

This is a martini glass with a Marquesan Tiki for its stem. An outrigger canoe is depicted in raised relief on the back of the Tiki. The glass was designed by Swamp Tiki & made by Bourbon Tiki in anticipation of the opening of the Aku Kai in 2007, but the bar's opening was indefinitely delayed. Despite this, several of these glasses have been spotted. The green stems vary in color. Some are darker, and some are much lighter.

This is Paul Nielsen of Munktiki's interpretation of Singa. Singa is a mythical creature of the Indonesian Batak people who live in the mountains in Sumatra. Although the name means "lion", it resembles no living creature. Its representation, generally confined to the head, is the synthesis of several superior forms of creation and its appearance varies between the buffalo and a distorted human figures. The edition is limited to 100 pieces of varying colors. This version has a "Chameleon" exterior that, depending on light & reflection, appears to be any color between olive green, gray, teal and purple.

The mug is cobalt blue, and features a beach scene, with a sun and palm trees in the background, and a Ku statue in the foreground, all in relief. Marked "Aloha" on top rim and "Hilo Hattie, HI" on bottom rim in script letters.
