Chimp in Orbit - by Kon-Tigo Tiki Bar
in 0 collections
The Chimp in Orbit re-creation mug by Kon-Tigo Tiki Bar is an incredibly tall and narrow bright yellow mug with black pin stripes that effects a sort of rocket ship of a drinking vessel. It is purely cylindrical with no physical differentiation between the front and back.
The original Chimp In Orbit was used at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the 1960s-1970s and this recreation of an otherwise super rare mug lends to a fun and bizarre drinking experience.
Sculpt and Production by Kon-Tigo Tiki Bar.
This mug came with its own special tribute recipe, reportedly quite strong and including amongst other ingredients -- 4.5 oz rum, banana liqueur, and gardenia mix.
To make the original 1960s recipe Chimp in Orbit: 1 1/2 oz Gold Puerto Rican Rum, 1/2 oz Orange curacao, 1/2 oz Creme de cacao, 3 oz fresh lemon juice, 3 oz fresh orange juice, 1 oz red vermouth, 1/4 oz grenadine

The Radish Spirit is a hefty, slow-moving god with a build like that of a sumo wrestler. He has two large appendages extending down from the sides of his face, and is covered from head-to-toe in white fur. He wears an upturned sake bowl on his head and a red Etchū fundoshi. Without a spoken role, The Radish Spirit has no visible mouth, because he grumbles and laughs like Santa Claus.
This mug version is wearing a cherry blossom patterned aloha shirt. The sake bowl lid is removable and has a straw hole in center.
Ako The Follower - Bone Edition - by Omar Girona - for Oakwash
aka Artifact 004 in collections
This mug is designed as a mask version of the Creature From the Black Lagoon, and was issued in several color-ways, including a Creature Glaze, Lava Glaze, Atlantis Glaze, and Bone Glaze.
From Omar Girona:
"Well if you believe in such things, very little equipment was recovered from Site 9 of the ill-fated expedition in search of the lost city except for this peculiar mask. This celebratory mask was worn by a young attendant to the storyteller at a lagoon where the waters flow dark as obsidian during festivals and high events in the lost city. The most notable festival was the celebration of the rising of the Black Moon. The skull looks remarkably human-like, but even experts of the Explorer’s Club are at a loss of what the face of the Akolouthos looks like as the mask has formed a permanent bond with the skull. According to the Explorer’s Club resident South American Cryptologist, this mask has similar markings to the Brazilian Lara or pays tribute to a lost creature of the black lagoon. Notice the large eyes and the pronounced scales on the face. Perhaps to see underwater or maybe in the far reaches of outer space.
Again, if you believe in such things…"
First release at Inuhele, January 19th-21st, 2024.
