Full body Tiki mug with open mouth, slanted coffee-bean-shaped eyes, and brow line incised with repeated triangle pattern. This piece was designed with vintage Hawaiian Island Tikis from the 60's in mind. Many of the Tikis from this period were carved with very big toes on their feet, and many carvers used this style on the islands back then, including the ones who were locked up on the big island's Kulani prison, where more of the very detailed versions came from.

This design was originally sculpted by Squid and released by Gecko in 2012, but a third party manufacturer represented it as an original design to the Makai and sold a repro version of it to them as a custom mug in 2023.

Compared to the originals, it is washed out and has much less molded detail.

The Makai only found out about Squid & Gecko being the original creators after its initial release.

Gecko and the Makai came to an amicable resolution on the matter, and sales appear to have been cut off, but there are still some of these out in the wild that were sold on location.

This matte blue octopus mug is not available for purchase, but only after having completed the Makai "Cocktail Journey".

This is a mug shaped like a white lighthouse with a giant brown Ku tiki climbing the side. Marked on front for the Makai in Santa Cruz.

This mug is shaped like the head of a winking drunk who's had way too many rum punches. This Artist Proof edition is green.

This was preceded by a Full Color Edition with white beard and a Low Tide Edition of Captain Carver that has weathered gray look from being exposed to the tides. Both were limited to 25 pieces.

A full color Blue Beard Edition was also released at the same time as the Traditional Mahogany version, and limited to 12 pieces.

This is a mug shaped like the carved and brightly painted wooden head of a sea captain with a cigar in his mouth. He has a blue beard.

A Traditional Mahogany Edition was also released at the same time as the Blue Beard version, and limited to 13 pieces.

This is the first mug by Dos Maderas in what is intended to be an annual series of mugs. It comes in 2 parts, the mug shaped like a cresting wave and a ship that sits on top. This was boxed in a gift set with a bottle of their rum.

This is a Kane mug with classic X-eyes face that was produced by Linall Brand (stamped Tiki Lin). Originally, these were issued in a bone glaze with a black/brown wipe finish and gloss overglaze. This version has been embellished with a day-glow black light painted color scheme.

This coconut mug was manufactured by OMC for the Motel And Restaurant On The Mountain in Suffern, NY. It features a geisha with the front of her robes pulled down to expose her breasts. Marked "MOTEL AND RESTAURANT ON THE MOUNTAIN Suffern, NY" on reverse with phone number. There is also a mug and a scorpion bowl from the same location with the same graphic in a matte white & brown.

This is a clear glass square ashtray for the Kuo Wah Cafe in Chinatown, San Francisco, California. It has red graphics at center.
