Tiki Bars
South London Pacific
London, United Kingdom (Closed)
Created by "Skipper" Josh Collins who went on to create the Hula Bula Bar in Australia.
Interior boasted a number of very large painted styrofoam tikis.
This location was described as heavy on the nightclub and while they did offer Vietnamese style "finger food", few went here simply to dine.
South London Pacific closed in 2018 after 15+ years and is now The Cock Tavern London. The new owners retained some of the tiki decor and worked it into their otherwise Georgian style theme.

This barbershop may not serve cocktails, but they play exotica and other tiki-friendly music while you have a relaxing shave in a tiki-themed atmosphere decorated with Bac Bac on the walls, tiki artwork, masks, mugs, tapa cloth, and all the other details that would make a tikiphile right at home.

The Beachcomber Shop
Newport Beach, California, United States (Closed)
This pre-tiki location started out in the 40s at 2701 West Coast Highway and moved @ 1949 or so to 801 Coast Highway.
Primarily a clothing store, the Beachcomber Shop sold bathing suits, yachting hats and caps, Aloha shirts by Shaheen, tog sandals, and other beach attire.
The exterior of the shop was recognizable for its entrance framed by an old boat and signs made out of old nautical rope.
Judging by ads and catalogues, this shop continued at least into the 1950s.
Servatur Waikiki - Spain
San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Spain
The Hotel Waikiki was built in 1974 on the Playa del Inglés - Gran Canaria - Spain.
Servatur acquired the hotel around 2010 and is the current corporate head as of 2024.
Originally, the hotel sported some very nice Marquesan styled tikis on its grounds.
However, although the current advertising still talks about a tiki bar poolside, it appears the original vintage decor has long been disposed of with successive remodelings, leaving only a bland resort atmosphere. The only tikis in evidence appear to be some large and cartoonish (probably fiberglass) tikis by the childrens' pool area.
Jungle Bird - San Juan
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Opened in September of 2016.
This bar describes itself as a "Tropical leisure cocktail bar located in the heart of La Placita de Santurce."
They serve tiki and tropical cocktails with a rum focus, and use a variety of tiki mugs.
Like many recent bars, the decor is lightly tropical but not immersive with tiki carvings and artwork in the way that Trader Vics and Don the Beachcomber set the standards with -- and probably why they do not use the "Tiki" label for themselves, preferring to focus on the cocktails.
However there is at least one actual wood tiki carving in the outside patio area and the overall ambience is dimly lit and inviting, sure to attract tiki aficionados who might be in the area and thirsty for a crafted beverage.
Shipwreck 7th Tiki Bar
Fort Worth, Texas, United States
Opened August 15th, 2023.
From Owen McGrath, who previously opened The Shot Cellar, also on Foch Street, in 2019; and Michele Kettle, his business partner at ShipWreck & The Shot Cellar, who also owns a cocktail bar in Midland called The Buffalo Nickel.
Premise: "Serving new and re-imagined Tiki Cocktails for our re-telling of the great adventures of Captain Jeffrey Alexander on the immersive eternal Jade Island."
This bar has a definite slant toward pirate and nautical but plenty of tiki details as well.
It is a large space and they use quite a bit of video projection on walls and ceiling. They also use audio for different drinks and scenarios for an immersive effect that must be experienced in person to be truly appreciated.
They also have an extensive menu of cocktails, with stories behind each one, and interactive puzzles to be solved which can unlock drinks for the persistent explorer!
Hawaiian Inn - St. Petersburg
St. Pete Beach, Florida, United States (Closed)
The Hawaiian Inn was opened by Frank Cannova in late 1974. Its building used to be the Desert Ranch hotel which dates to the mid 1950s. The lobby was decorated with tiki masks and outrigger canoes. They had a restaurant called the Kon Tiki Supper Club, which had the traditional Polynesian floor shows such as hula and fire knife dance, and there was also a separate lounge. In November 1978 a fire gutted the restaurant and lounge, and it remained closed until May 1979 when it became the Beachcomber Resort, run by Resort Inns of America, who decided to change the bar/restaurant area into a German Beer Hall complete with an oom-pah-pah band.

United Kingdom (Closed)
Sinah Warren Chalet Hotel, at Sinah, Hayling Island near Portsmouth was originally built as a health farm.

Tahitian Hut - Geary - San Francisco
San Francisco, California, United States (Closed)
This was actually the second Tahitian Hut opened in San Francisco.
It was open around 1947, soon after the original location on Broadway closed that same year.
Opened at least through 1966 and the outside mural and sign are still visible today as of 2025.
Shipwrecked Paradise Island - Sacramento
Sacramento, California, United States
Opened in late 2024.
Shipwrecked Paradise Island was launched by the same team that operates the Shipwrecked Tiki Bar in Davis, California -- Nate and Melissa Yungvanitsait.
This downtown Sacramento bar is deeply immersive but tilts away from the usual Polynesian beachcomber aesthetic of most classic tiki bars and instead embraces a tropical Balinese jungle island atmosphere that looks like it could easily accommodate the next film installment of Tomb Raider. After entering past huge Balinese temple guardian statues, visitors will find themselves confronted with a tiger, a giant man-eating plant, and with a huge anaconda hanging from the ceiling. If they can make their way past these obstacles to the bar, they will find a long menu of tropical and tiki cocktails waiting.
