Tiki Apartments - Canoga Park
Canoga Park, California, United States
Built in 1964, the Tiki Apartments in Canoga Park was a multi-family 2 story construction with 5+ units (17 beds and 47 baths).
It is unclear how long many of the tiki elements held on, but most were certainly gone after the Northridge Earthquake in 1994.
As of 2025, the only vestiges of its original construction are the sections covered by lava rock and the A-frame in the center.

Tiki-Tock - at The Frenchman Hotel - New Orleans
New Orleans, Louisiana, United States (Closed)
Opened in April of 2023.
This was more of a tropical bar than a tiki bar.
Other than "Tiki" in the name, there was nothing in the decor to support the "tikiness" of the venue. It would have been equally at home in Mexico or Jamaica or the Caribbean.
Palapa thatched umbrellas designated seating areas and there were runners of palm thatching around the top and bottom of the bar which looked like they could be quickly torn down in an afternoon if the Frenchman Hotel decided its Patio needed a re-fresh and a different theme...which appears to be what eventually happened...
One corner had some tropical wallpaper and a few large tropical flower prints. There were no tiki carvings or Polynesian artworks.
And, the stark concrete floor, large exposed brick walls, and black-painted industrial metal ceiling were at odds with the rest of the decor.
Despite this, they had a very good menu of tropical and tiki cocktails and drew high praise for the quality of their cocktails, created by Patrick Williams, VP of operations and innovation for Angevin & Co., which owns the hotel and bar.
Closed as of March, 2025.
Tiki Tomb
Cape Town, South Africa (Closed)
Tiki Tomb opened in Cape Town, South Africa on October 6th, 2023.
It was next to and shared space with Boma on Bree (bar & restaurant), in their basement, through a carved tiki face door on street level.
The bar was designed by Fabricant Design Studio.
It had a large open space for dancing with a long bar and DJ booth on one side and booth and table seating around the opposite perimeter which was decorated with tons of carved masks that looked to have been greatly inspired by Bosko's work at False Idol in San Diego.
Closed March 29th, 2025.
Tiki Mirage
Los Angeles, California, United States
The Tiki Mirage cocktail bar started in 2019 as a pop-up in West Los Angeles. It's now a bookable cocktail experience for parties and collaborations, re-located to Chinatown for the time being.
Founders Max Masuda-Farkas, Aaron Girard, and Nick Newberg, decked out a box truck with a detailed tiki interior and crafted it into a show with its own original story.
Those who book the $85 gratuity-included tickets will be asked to meet at a Google-pinned location in Chinatown and get escorted over to the truck. Once seated, bartenders will assemble a cocktail menu by World’s 50 Best Los Angeles bar Thunderbolt while the trio tells a narrative based on tales of a fictional sea explorer named Daniel T. Coleridge.
Tiki Docks - Madeira Beach
Madeira Beach, Florida, United States (Closed)
Opened June 23rd, 2025.
This 298-seat indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar was operated by Tampa-based 23 Restaurant Services.
Previously home to the short-lived Don the Beachcomber (owned by the same mother company) which occupied this space for less than a year from February of 2024 to September of 2024 when Hurricane Helene hit and caused extensive damage.
It was then decided to re-envision this space as a Tiki Docks. Much of the build out and decor was still recognizable from the old Don's bar/restaurant, but with some fresh paint, freshening up, and repairs.
This location closed September 9, 2025, abruptly, and less than three months after its June 23 grand opening.
Tiki Docks Bar and Grill has three locations currently: Riverview, Port Orange, and St. Petersburg, FL.
Tiki Docks - Port Orange

Hermosa Beach, California, United States
Soft Opening on November 3rd and Grand Opening on November 5th, 2025.

Interior design completed by the Davis Ink Team.
Most notable is their use of actual lava rock on the exterior and interior walls and the over 125 different colored lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
Mescall is a longtime hospitality operator in the South Bay area, with several bars and restaurants already under his ownership. These include Eat at Joe’s, The Hula Hula Room, The Sportsman’s Bar, The Bounty Room, The Sly Fox Irish Pub, Paddy O’Brien’s Irish Pub, and Torrance Tavern.
Rockaway Tiki Bar
New York, United States
Owner Amy Tichenor felt that Queens' best beach neighborhood was missing a proper tiki bar and filled that gap in April 2021 with the Rockaway Tiki Bar.
Rockaway Tiki Bar joins the other offerings of Arverne of the Sea, including Locals Cafe, Super Burrito, Cuisine by Claudettes, Vino by the Sea, Bar Marseille, Breakwater Surf Shop, Boardwalk Pizza, and Batesy’s BBQ.
The bar is located one block from the Atlantic Ocean and one of the best surf breaks in the Rockaways.
The food menu features poke bowls and dumplings. The cocktail menu is limited to a top 12, including a couple of chiller slushie drinks served from their machine.
Though small, there is some great tiki and vintage decor, including some carvings by Tiki tOny and a 70s velvet painting of a topless girl behind the bar (exposed nipple tastefully covered by a dried-out starfish).
There is also outdoor seating.
