Mission Tiki Drive-In was originally the Mission Drive-In, which opened in 1956. De Anza took it over and started work on turning it into a tiki drive-in in 2005. The tikification was primarily performed by carver and artist Tiki Diablo, and includes plenty of tikis and Polynesian-themed decor. Ticket booths have A-frame tops with thatch, and the refreshments area has plenty of large tikis and tiki masks, and bamboo-lined walls. Mission Tiki's logo tiki is holding a box of popcorn. In addition to the regular schedule of drive-in movies, Mission Tiki hosts special events similar to those that have proved popular at the the De Anza-owned (but non-tiki) Starlight Drive-In in Atlanta.

Closed January 23rd, 2023. Sold and cleared for industrial development.

Tiki Tiki Yokohama was a combination of Polynesian themed restaurant and Public Beer House, with multiple dining rooms and floor shows.

The emphasis on Beer House was more recent, starting @ 2017 or so.

Closed November 6th, 2022 according to their Instagram.

There was a sister location, Tiki Tiki Shinjuku which did not have the Beer House emphasis and had much more Polynesian decor.

The Hawaiian Inn was opened by Frank Cannova in late 1974. Its building used to be the Desert Ranch hotel which dates to the mid 1950s. The lobby was decorated with tiki masks and outrigger canoes. They had a restaurant called the Kon Tiki Supper Club, which had the traditional Polynesian floor shows such as hula and fire knife dance, and there was also a separate lounge. In November 1978 a fire gutted the restaurant and lounge, and it remained closed until May 1979 when it became the Beachcomber Resort, run by Resort Inns of America, who decided to change the bar/restaurant area into a German Beer Hall complete with an oom-pah-pah band.

Kona Kai Club opened in 1953, and along with the nearby Bali Hai Restaurant, was one of the first developments on the predominantly Polynesian-themed Shelter Island. The Kona Kai Club was a marina, intended from the start to serve high-end yachts, and it developed into the premiere marina in San Diego. The catalog of celebrities mooring pleasure boats there is impressive: Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, Jack Lemmon, Gregory Peck, Jimmy Durante, Dick Van Dyke, Liberace, and many more.

The Kon-Tiki bar & lounge adjoined the club's main dining room and came complete with a Kon-Tiki sail waving from the bar itself.

In 1959, the Kona Inn hotel was opened next door (at 1901 Shelter Island Drive). Later in the year, the entire property was purchased by Jack Wrather, a Hollywood producer who was the original owner of the Disneyland Hotel. Wrather expanded the marina, and in 1963 sold the club to John Alessio, owner of the famous Hotel del Coronado. Alessio started to add Mediterranean touches, including an octagonal structure echoing the one at the Coronado.

The Kona Inn and Kona Kai Club underwent their final renovation from 1995-1997, which completed the conversion from Polynesian to Mediterranean. The name was removed in 1998, and it became Shelter Pointe Hotel & Marina.

Today, the name is back (well, nearly: it is called Kona Kai Resort & Spa) but the theming is entirely Mediterranean.

Tikis Woodcarvings, also called "Tiki's Woodcarvings," "Tiki Joe's Wood Carvings" or "Tiki & Co." was the shop of Joe Fanelli, who had been carving tikis for more than 30 years. Tiki Joe made and sold a number of tiki masks and large tiki poles from this small setup next to Dick's Pawn Shop. Tiki Joe's tikis were carved with a chainsaw from cypress or red cedar.

The Charleston Antique Mall has over 15,000 square feet of antiques and collectibles. One booth at the mall, run by Tiki Lee, was dedicated entirely to tiki, and offered a mix of modern and vintage tiki collectibles, especially mugs, but moved in October 2013 to a new antique mall, Main Street America, at 1400 S. Main St. and is currently still there as of 2022 (although the name of the mall has changed to Main Street Peddler's Antique Mall). Tiki Lee's Tiki Shop also has an online presence at https://tikileestikishop.bigcartel.com/

The Charleston Antique Mall was known as the Red Rooster Antique Mall until it was renamed in 2007. (A separate store that retains the name "Red Rooster" is right next door.) Getting to the antique mall can be a little challenging, as it sits right between the freeway and the railroad tracks, but once you have driving directions it's pretty easy to find.

Lost Lake opened in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago in January 2015. It was a partnership between Paul McGee, formerly of Three Dots and a Dash, and development group Land and Sea Dept. Martin Cate, owner of Smuggler's Cove, was also involved in Lost Lake, particularly helping with their selection of sipping rums. Its design was less tiki, and more of a nod to the early, streamlined bamboo-focused Pre-Tiki era of Polynesian Pop escapism. Colorful fish floats hung in the front window, and one whole wall was wallpapered with a bold banana leaf motif. Fish trap lamps wrapped the bar area, and the canted ceiling was covered with lauhala and bamboo. There was green vinyl booth seating toward the back, and a rock wall. The beverage program was developed by McGee, with a mix of classic tropical cocktails and his own inventions. Land and Sea Dept. also owned the connected upscale Chinese take-out restaurant, called Thank You.

After an 18-month down-time due to Covid, Lost Lake re-opened in August 2021 with a cocktail menu focused on "Tropical Drinks" (i.e., Margaritas, Pina Coladas, Mojitos, and Daiquiris) instead of "Tiki Drinks" (Zombies, Mai-Tais, etc.) as a concession to concerns that "Tiki" is racist and colonialist in nature. The decor was already fairly sparse by Tiki standards, but they went further by removing several pieces, including the glass fishing floats hanging in the front window, the fishing basket light fixtures over the bar, and the pufferfish chandelier. A picture of a woman in a grass skirt was also taken down, a rock wall was covered with a curtain, and fake skulls were removed from the fish tank.

This closure and re-vamping of their image still proved not enough to combat the difficulties of operating during Covid, however, and Lost Lake's Closure was announced for January 15th, 2022.

Dobbs House Luau was a chain of Polynesian restaurants throughout the south. This location opened in 1960 or 1961. This is the Orlando location, Maitland is a suburb just north of Orlando. It operated at least through 1964, and had changed its name to Dobbs House Tiki sometime in the early 1960s. It was built on an acre-and-a-half of land, with elaborate decor at South US Highway 17 92 at Circle Drive.

Newspapers claim that the restaurant was built to seat at least 250 persons and would be staffed with 50.

Other Dobbs House Luau locations were in Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham, Charlotte, Dallas, Miami, Lexington, Houston, and Louisville.

Manchester Lola Lo opened its doors on Thursday 12th December, 2013. It was one of several in a chain of Lola Lo bar/restaurants (including Bristol, Cambridge, Manchester, and Reading) but only Bristol and Reading remain as of late 2024.

A 560 capacity venue containing three levels: a lower ground floor, a ground floor and a mezzanine, creating a multiple-tiered tiki paradise. With DJs playing in the evenings and through the night, exotic, beach-themed drinks and live entertainment, Lola Lo breathes a fresh vibrancy into the Deansgate Locks scene. Additional unique features such as a fancy dress box and a casual dining operation, serving delicious artisan savoury and dessert pizzas and tasty beer cocktails. "

As of 2021-2022, this location was light on tiki decor with only one Moai statue in sight and some tropical leaf wallpaper. Several large television screens playing football did little to convey the island vibe either.

A side-by-side with an earlier 2013 photo of Cheeky Tiki's decoration when they first opened the bar shows that they originally had more of a tiki theme.

They did still carry several imprinted tiki mugs by CheekyTiki for the mug enthusiast.

Bob Bryant and Earl Erwin opened this restaurant, often referred to as Tiki Bob's II, on October 24th, 1957 in the Capitol Inn Hotel, Sacramento. Supposedly, Erwin's wife was tired of driving to San Francisco to visit the first Tiki Bob's incarnation, so Erwin brought Tiki Bob's to Sacramento.

In addition to the South Seas Room, this location also had a Carribean, Pacifica, and Gold Room.
