Hale Pūkaua MOTU Three-Piece Mug Set - Second Edition - Awakening Variant - Blue & Purple - by STARR TIKI #99 a.k.a. Castle Grayskull Mug Set

This is a three-piece mug set that when grouped together forms a castle very similar to Castle Grayskull from the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe story franchise.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is an American animated television series produced by Filmation based on Mattel's toy line Masters of the Universe. The show, often referred to as simply He-Man, was one of the most popular animated shows of the 1980s. The franchise has since spawned a huge cult following and resulted in further toys, collectibles, television series, a film, annual convention and much more. Castle Grayskull is a fortress located on the fictional planet Eternia and was a pivotal part of the franchise, having been issued as a playset in the 1980s and serving as a great topic of mystery and machinations in the extended storyline.

Hale Pukaua MOTU is perhaps from an alternate reality where Castle Grayskull was turned into a tiki bar. Some subtle tiki elements decorate the castle, such as a glass fish float in the eye and hibiscus flowers around the ram skull on reverse. It also features the STARR TIKI logo on the reverse. The three mugs included in this set fit together together for display but do not actually interlock. The left and right mugs have indents that allow the center mug to sit into place.

This mug set design is STARR TIKI's first foray into the mug manufacturing world. Designed and produced by Jesse Starr. It was designed as a pre-order of 150 pieces on July 12th, 2020 for the green First Edition and orders began their first delivery in December 2020.

This Second Edition has two color variants: "Awakening" (Blue & Purple) and "Under Seige" (Gold & Purple).

The Horror In Clay Series One Open Edition a.k.a. Cthulhu Mug

This mug depicts H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu (pronounced: "kuh-THOO-loo"). Cthulhu made his first official appearance in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu," written by Lovecraft in 1926, although no living character in the story ever sets eyes on the actual creature. The characters we meet in the story see Cthulhu either in dreams or in artwork. The narrator of the story says that a statue of Cthulhu resembled, in part, an octopus, a dragon and a human-like or anthropomorphic creature. This mug was conceived as an online kickstarter project. Designed by Jonathan Chaffin (Tiki Atari on TC) and sculpted by Kristina Lucas Francis. It was manufactured in China with a planned run of at least 500 but is an open edition. A limited edition version was also released (handmade and detailed by Kristina Lucas Francis) for upper level contributors to the Kickstarter project.

The King In Yellow Mug Kickstarter Open Edition a.k.a. The Pallid Mask Mug by Horror in Clay, Hastur from the Cthulhu Mythos Mug

A mug depicting the King in Yellow (Hastur the Unspeakable). It is glazed in yellow with a reddish antiqued wipe-away effect. Hastur is the name of a deity created by Ambrose Bierce and later incorporated in the writings of Robert W. Chambers and other authors, eventually forming part of the Cthulhu Mythos. In its original appearance in the 1893 short story "Haïta the Shepherd", by Ambrose Bierce, Hastur is a benevolent, bucolic deity worshiped by the title character. In The King in Yellow, In Robert W. Chamber's 1895 collection The King in Yellow - which contains stories related to the titular (and fictional) play, the name Hastur shows up multiple times, but in different contexts, referring to either a character or a place. The King in Yellow is often depicted as a creepy figure in tattered yellow robes with a mysterious pallid mask on its hooded head and sometimes hands (but sometimes tentacles) protruding from deep sleeves.

Rue Morgue Dreadful Ape Tiki Mug Series 1 Open Edition In Bloody Red Wipe Glaze

This is a mug shaped like a tikified version of the ape from Edgar Allan Poe's 1841 short story, The Murders In The Rue Morgue. The ape holds a straight razor, instrument of its murders, in its lap. Although called a "bloody red wipe glaze" the color reads much darker. The original design sketches were made by Jonathan M. Chaffin. Munktiki Imports and Jason Yungbluth helped with translating Jonathan's design into the finished mug. This project originated as a Kickstarter project which reached its goal in 2016 with mugs being produced/delivered in March 2017. Edition of 1,000+ according to the Kickstarter page.

Innsmouth Fogcutter Series Two Open Edition In Purple by Horror In Clay

This is a fog cutter shaped mug showing the devolution of a pretty wahine into a gilled Lovecraftian horror of the deep. Designed by Jonathan Chaffin (Tiki Atari on TC) and manufactured in collaboration with Tiki Farm. The Innsmouth Fogcutter Mug is inspired by HP Lovecraft's story "The Shadow Over Innsmouth." This mug is designed as if used in the Gilman House hotel lounge and bears the location stamp of infamous Innsmouth, MA. This Purple Wipe Edition features a wiped-off purple glaze and gloss overcoat. The sculpt itself features an Esoteric Order of Dagon logo, the transformation of a woman into an aquatic horror, and you can see dread Cthulhu lurking down in sunken R'yleth if you look carefully. There was also an earlier open edition and limited edition versions which were re-sculpted and hand detailed and glazed by Wendy Cevola.
