Appleton Estate 2011 Captain Seamus Tiki Mug a.k.a. Appleton Estate Australian Promo Mug 2011

Captain Seamus is Tiki Farm's 4th design with Appleton Estate, Australia. It was conceived in a national “Tiki design” competition ultimately won by Perth based Pete Long, mixologist at the Hula Bula Bar. This concept was taken further and design was completed by Big Toe. The mug features a full-body Ku dressed in a pirate outfit with prominent skull & crossbones on the hat, and wielding a cutlas. Hand-wiped satin black over natural (beige) glaze. "Appleton Estate Since 1749 Jamaica Rum" printed on red scroll at bottom front. 150 pieces limited release in the USA, but more in Australia.

    Big Toe Mug Limited

Full body Tiki mug with open mouth, slanted coffee-bean-shaped eyes, and brow line incised with repeated triangle pattern. This piece was designed with vintage Hawaiian Island Tikis from the 60's in mind. Many of the Tikis from this period were carved with very big toes on their feet, and many carvers used this style on the islands back then, including the ones who were locked up on the big island's Kulani prison, where more of the very detailed versions came from. Sculpted by Squid. This is the limited version which has a brown wash over a white/beige exterior. Red glaze on interior.
