Marquesan Tiki Mug - by Tiki Diablo - For Smuggler's Cove

This is a Marquesan tiki mug from Danny "Tiki Diablo" Gallardo made exclusively for Smuggler's Cove in San Francisco. This original design is Tiki Diablo's artistic interpretation of the historic Marquesan-style tiki that resides above the pond at Smuggler's Cove with barnacles added to better suit Smuggler's nautical theme.

This tiki was carved by Eli Hedley and sold in the 1950s at his Island Trade Store (which also had a location in Disneyland and where a similar tiki stood for over a decade in the park). This tiki was sold to Trader Dick's in Sparks, NV where it stood outside the entrance until placed indoors when Trader Dick's moved inside the nearby Nugget Hotel & Casino. When Trader Dick's closed in 2014, the tiki was purchased and displayed at Smuggler's Cove.

This mug was sold online only during the Covid quarantine shutdown and sold out quickly in a single day.

Hula Girl Salt & Pepper Shakers - Hobbyist - by Atlantic Mold

This pair of matched hula girls are labeled on the bottom ("Lu Pepa" on the hula girl with hands on hips and "Miko Salt" for the girl with hands in air). Each measures about 6" high. These were made from a mold by Atlantic Mold (a supplier of hobbyist molds that lasted from around 1960-2001). It is a very crisply detailed mold and many of these pieces appear to be manufactured or art pieces as opposed to the usual hobbyist pieces, so they sell for a higher amount as a result.

Mele Hoa Tiki Mug - Satin Green with Gunmetal Gray Wash - by Rainforest Tiki

    From the Tiki Farm website:

"An absolutely wonderful, very playful mug sculpted & designed by Daniel Scarcello aka Rainforesttiki. This is our second design by Daniel and personally, though I dig them both, this one is my favorite. “Mele Hoa” features two stylized Tiki-inspired characters with the fellow up top holding a Tiki mask over his face. Perched on top of the lower fellow totem-style, there are dashes of symbology to be found on the mug, though I have no idea what it means… I just love it! Ultimately perched upon an outcropping of foliage and a pedestaled lava, skull-flanked base – it’s super fun and super creative! Glazed in a beautiful, all-new satin green with a gunmetal grey wash, the detailing is very strong and the mug’s detailing shows through so nicely in this glaze combination."
